SilverDocs Film Festival

 SilverDocs Film Festival

Created in 2003 by the American Film Institute, the SilverDocs Film Festival is regarded as one of the best (and most talked about) documentary film festivals in the US. Held every year in downtown Silver Spring, the festival lasts for seven days, along with the concurrent five-day International Documentary Conference which promotes the art of making documentary films. The documentary films of SilverDocs are shown at the AFI Silver Theatre, less than a half mile from the Courtyard by Marriott Silver Spring Downtown hotel and within walking distance. For event information, visit the SILVERDOCS website.

SilverDocs showcases the best documentary films from around the world, bringing in more than 27,000 attendees every year. In its 9th year, this international film festival continues to expose thousands of film lovers to a wide range of films representing more than 60 countries.
